§ 1

Three partners, eleven lawyers, one office.

Iskandar Hakim, Lim Su-Ann and Devika Rao founded the firm in 2009, after a decade each in larger practices. We act for owner-managed businesses, people buying and selling property, employers and employees, and families settling an estate.

The firm is small on purpose. The partner you first meet stays responsible for your matter, and you will always know who is working on it and what it is likely to cost before the work begins.

§ 4

Notes, in plain words

Short answers to questions clients ask us often. General information, not advice on your situation.

Property · 12 September 2026 · 4 min

Buying a sub-sale property: what your deposit actually holds

The 2–3% earnest deposit paid with an offer usually only holds the property while the Sale and Purchase Agreement is prepared. The balance to 10% is paid when the agreement is signed, and the remaining 90% within the completion period, often three months with a one-month extension.

Estates · 28 August 2026 · 5 min

No will? How the Distribution Act 1958 decides who inherits

For non-Muslims in Peninsular Malaysia who die without a will, the Act divides the estate between a surviving spouse, children and parents in fixed shares. It rarely matches what people would have chosen.

Employment · 2 August 2026 · 3 min

Can my employer change my contract?

Terms of employment usually can’t be changed without the employee’s agreement. Where change is needed, the safer route is consultation and a written variation that both sides sign.

§ 5

Arrange a first consultation

First consultations are by appointment. Before we can act for you, we run a conflict check to make sure we don’t already act for someone on the other side.

This is a demo form. Nothing is sent.
